Who We Are

Rise Initiative is a free mentorship program dedicated to empowering inner-city male youth within the Chicagoland area. Our mission is simple but powerful— help young men rise above the barriers of gang involvement, violence, and lack of proper guidance so they can step into adulthood with purpose, discipline, and dignity. We exist to be the support system many young men were never given —mentors who show up, listen, teach, and lead by example.

Transform Lives Through Mentorship

We focus on developing boys into men who:

  • Carry themselves with manners, morals, and integrity
  • Build self-discipline and emotional intelligence
  • Understand accountability and healthy decision-making

This isn’t just about mentorship—it’s about reshaping identity and rewriting futures.

 

Provide Educational Pathways

Not every student wants the same route—and that’s why Rise Initiative supports:

  • Trade programs (electrician, carpentry, HVAC, automotive, etc.)

  • Two- and four-year colleges

  • Certifications and workforce development

The goal is to open doors and help each young man walk confidently through the one that fits his strengths and goals.

 

Reduce Community Violence

By giving boys structure, guidance, and belonging, we aim to:

  • Break cycles of gang involvement

  • Strengthen community ties

  • Encourage positive peer networks

Mentorship is our intervention; leadership is our outcome.

 

Build Strong Men, Strong Families, Strong Communities

Long-term success means helping each young man become:

  • A reliable employee or entrepreneur

  • A responsible father and partner
